Detroit’s three casinos have reported an aggregate monthly revenue of US$109.6m for December 2024, and an annual aggregate revenue of $1.29bn.

For the monthly December figures, $109.3m came from table games and slots, which is a 2.7 per cent increase on the previous month and a 1.9 per cent decrease on the previous year.

The three casinos paid $8.9m in gaming taxes to the state of Michigan through the month, as well as $13.5m in wagering taxes and development agreement payment to the City of Detroit.

$276,509 of the total revenue came from retail sports betting. The casinos reported a total retail sports betting handle of $19.77m. The casinos reported paying $16,293 in gaming taxes to the state and $19,913 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit.

The December market shares were 47 per cent for MGM, 30 per cent for MotorCity and 23 per cent for Hollywood Casino at Greektown.

Of the annual results, 79.8 per cent of the revenue came from slots, at $1.03bn, 19.4 per cent came from table games, at $250.96m and 0.8 per cent and from retail sports betting at $9.7m.

The annual 2024 market shares were 47 per cent for MGM, 30 per cent for MotorCity and 23 per cent for Hollywood Casino at Greektown.
