When the UK’s prime minister stood on the steps of Downing Street on May 22 and announced that he was calling a general election for July, it took the best laid plans of many of the country’s companies and shrouded them in uncertainty.
For the past year or so, companies involved in gaming in the UK had been working towards the findings of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport’s white paper, which it was planned would be implemented before the end of the current government cycle. Rishi Sunak’s call for a snap election changed all that.
