Sega Amusements has unveiled Alpha Ops VR Strike, ahead of its launch at IAAPA Expo later this month.

Alpha Ops

Billing it as “the next generation of arcade VR,” Sega says the game transports the player into a battle.

An arcade shooter, players are placed in the futuristic Alpha Ops squad. Strapped into a virtual armoured vehicle, they must fight off enemies, ambushes and confront a powerful boss across three different stages.

The game is powered by Unreal Engine 5, with players visiting locations including an ice blizzard and desert gorge.

The cabinet features Sega’s hybrid VR controller, which merges the headset and weapon into one device, and dual 86ins 4K displays to immerse the players into the action. There is also a motion platform and 4.1 surround sound to bring the game to life.

Justin Burke, sales director at Sega Amusements, commented: “Alpha Ops VR Strike has been performing incredibly well in the field, proving its exceptional entertainment value. And with its coin-operated, attendant-free setup, it’s ideal for high-traffic entertainment venues.”
