Stern Pinball has announced the release of its latest table, Metallica Remastered, which sees the manufacturer revisit one of its most popular games.
A technologically-advanced version of the previous table from 2013, it has been elevated to modern standards with updated gameplay, electronics and presentation.
The game features a full-colour LCD display with all-new animations and live concert video footage. Stern’s Spike 2 electronics will power the gameplay experience, which is soundtracked by a new and improved roster of 22 songs - eight more than the original.
Cabinet improvements include an Expression Lighting system and two new art packages by Metallica artist Rhys Cooper. Players will experience the same flow as the original playfield layout, with geometry and mechanical improvements, new versions of gameplay toys, updated mechanical devices and new UV lighting effects.
Two new game modes, based on Metallica’s two most recent albums, have been added, as well as a new Blackened Wizard mode.
Seth Davis, president and CEO of Stern Pinball, said: “Metallica is one of the quintessential pinball games that has been treasured and respected for over a decade now.
“We’re incredibly proud of the entire Stern team, in collaboration with Metallica, for their thoughtful yet modern recreation of this beloved game, staying true to the design philosophies that have shaped pinball today and for years to come.”
Metallica Remastered is available now in Premium and Limited Edition models, with a full suite of accessories available soon.
